NO! Honey was not in the bus. We went to see Honey at her paddock. Mrs Fellows drove the bus with all of us IN it. Honey lives just across the road from a classmate’s house and the cemetery. We learnt that you have to brush a horse before riding and after riding. We learnt that if you scratch Honey’s belly button she pulls funny faces and tucks her head in. We also learnt that horses will eat pear but Honey’s favourite treat is licorice. Carrot is her second favourite. Did you know that horses can eat licorice? We also learnt that to feed a horse you put your hand out nice and flat so that they don’t accidentally bite your fingers. Horses have very big teeth.
When we got back to school, we had a special visit from Emma and Stretch from Ambulance Victoria. Two of our classmates were chosen to sit in the ambulance and got to turn on the lights and the very loud siren. Some of us didn’t know that an ambulance often has a paramedic in it. We got to climb in the back of the ambulance. Emma read us a story called Ouch! It was about when Stretch broke his arm, a little bit like our classmate.
After Emma and Stretch’s visit we looked at Honey’s saddle and got to sit on it. It is made from leather. Leather comes from cows.
